Isn’t it possible that there actually is enough data in this single experience to teach the child the concept of the object contained within another object? Given how fast the brain processes the scene, even a few seconds of input to the brain may be enough. It is not necessarily even about color or shape. A blind child may learn just as quickly by feeling the box with the object inside. There is a lot of data in the 3D world. Just saying.
